The Problem
By 2016, there will be two hundred million motorcycles, cars, and trucks sold annually. Everyone wants them to be more efficient. Governments in developed markets are demanding it, and consumers in developing markets are clamoring for it. However, traditional fuel economy improvements add significant cost, and that cost has slowed the adoption of high-efficiency vehicle technologies. Pinnacle Engines changes the game. We offer substantial improvements in fuel economy without the cost penalty.
Environmental Need
The fast-growing and global demand for vehicles places strain on both our natural resources and our environment. There is a fundamental need for increased efficiency in the transportation sector. While emerging technologies like hybrids and electric vehicles promise a future of considerably reduced carbon emissions, their high cost and limited scalability prevent them from becoming a practical global solution in the near- or medium-term. Ultra-efficient engine technology will have a far more significant impact on global CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. By offering consumers a low-cost, scalable alternative for energy-efficient transportation, Pinnacle Engines can “bridge the gap” while dramatically reducing emissions and oil dependency now.
Building Momentum
Pinnacle is on a fast track to bring our engines to market quickly and inexpensively. The first markets for the Pinnacle Engines technology are rapidly growing markets in Asia that have a strong and demonstrated consumer pull for low-cost and fuel-efficient light-duty vehicles. Through a licensing and joint development agreement, we are launching our first engines with a major Asian vehicle OEM in the first quarter of 2013.
